In August 2024, I attended a workshop "things that go bang in the night" hosted by Qihang.
It was a workshop about sound and memory.
Afterwards, Qihang and I created this website to collect letters and sounds from the 12 participants.
As a form of publication, the web page offers a wide range of possibilities for reading texts based on its linguistic logic. The site presents a mix of text and sound, creating some new experiences as you move and pause.

I recorded a conversation with my mom, re-wove it with programming, and projected it onto the sofa cover that mom and I knitted together.
Her figure appeared softly between the woven lines.
My mom loves knitting and has a knack for turning discarded fabrics into something new. Once, I came home to find she’d made a sofa cover from the 'jilibu' (吉利布) she received at funerals.
One day, mom fell asleep on the sofa, and I captured that moment, weaving it together in my own way.

LE SEL is a contemporary jewelry label from San Francisco, founded by Yuxuan Li in 2020 and relocated to NYC in 2024. By exploring different bodies of water worldwide, experiencing tingly differences in sound, shape, color, texture, temperature, and volume, Yuxuan has been working with the idea that the water decorating Mother Earth can also be a natural decoration for human bodies.

I extracted the light from 60 important scenes in the movie and re-arranged them into a series of images.
As I played these 60 images, a new film formed, one that came from the film and had the narrative structure of the film, but it had no meaning. It was just about light and dark, about coldness and warmth of the light.
*This project is based on the re-creation of Apichatpong's movie “Uncle Bhumi who can evoke past lives”.

Freitag is a bag brand from Zurich.
Following its global visual language refresh in 2022, we began exploring a localized application strategy for social media and regional content within China.
For the brand visual system, I developed a modular structure grounded in logic and efficiency, enabling designers to quickly generate layouts by combining predefined modules.
To support localized content, we created a custom tape-inspired typeface, which maintains visual consistency while breaking out of rigid formats. This approach allows local narratives to be conveyed in a relaxed, straightforward, and highly legible way.
Each module in the system was designed according to the principles of efficiency, consistency, clarity, and reliability.

bcmng is an independent cycling apparel brand founded in 2024 in Shanghai.
The brand’s full name, becoming, embodies the dual meanings of “refined elegance” and the “process of evolving.”
This program recreates the process of evolution, where characters are no longer a single piece of information, they are related to each other and evolve with each other. From straight lines to curves, from static to dynamic.

The brand made its debut in Berlin, Germany, and was awarded the Best of the Best at the 2023 Red Dot Design Awards.

For this project, I collaborated with chatGPT to design this program. It imports publicly available data from Fashion Week and forms slices of each pixel of the data, which eventually converge to form a panoramic image that provides an alternative view of Fashion Week 2023.
